The American Athletic Conference Partners with ProhiBet

Sep 8, 2023

Las Vegas, NV (September 8th, 2023) The American Athletic Conference (AAC) and ProhiBet today announced a partnership that will provide the Conference with monitoring software and tools that will play a pivotal role in preventing student-athletes, coaches, and staff from engaging in prohibited sports wagering.

ProhiBets technology provides a secure and transparent method for sports properties and sportsbook operators to ensure that student-athletes, coaches, and administrative staff remain compliant with the intricate state regulations that govern sports betting activities.

The AAC previously announced a partnership with U.S. Integrity to provide monitoring services and analysis to proactively identify irregular contest-level officiating and wagering patterns. The partnership with ProhiBet further enhances the effectiveness of that service by recognizing prohibited bettors who would have undue influence on an event or market.

The AACs partnerships with ProhiBet and U.S. Integrity are part of a two-fold approach to solidify the conferences oversight surrounding sports betting and prohibited bettors. This approach will also see The AAC strengthen its control over the dissemination of the conferences data.

We are very pleased to partner with ProhiBet to further protect the integrity of our competitions across all sports, said American Athletic Conference Commissioner Mike Aresco. The ProhiBet service, coupled with the monitoring and educational resources provided by U.S. Integrity, will be an important component to help our student-athletes, coaches and staff adhere to institutional, conference, NCAA and state regulations pertaining to sports wagering.

We are thrilled to partner with the AAC -- the combination of ProhiBet's state-of-the-art encrypted data transfer system and the AACs dedication to upholding the integrity of sports will undoubtedly enhance the transparency and trustworthiness of current and future prohibited bettors, stated Matt Heap, Managing Director of ProhiBet. Heap brings a wealth of experience in the field as the former head of the Colorado Division of Gamings sportsbook operations.

ProhiBet is a joint venture between U.S. Integrity and Odds On Compliance. U.S. Integrity offers wagering monitoring services to stakeholders across the sports wagering ecosystem while Odds On Compliance is a leading compliance technology and consultation firm in the sports betting and gaming industry.
